About CAMELEO
CAMELEO is a unique professional software package for image acquisition, processing, retouching, RIP (PostScript & HP-GL2/2), color calibration/separation and output.
CAMELEO is the first 1 to 16 bits per color component software (RGB, CMYK and GrayScale) dedicated to Unix workstations.
As a multitasking and multiplatform software, CAMELEO is perfectly adapted to the Unix workstation power and thanks to its specific memory management, CAMELEO is capable of handling large size images.
CAMELEO drives dozens of graphics peripheral devices that were not available until today on Unix platforms.
CAMELEO is the only european independent concept for graphics solutions based on the most popular peripherals on the market: Agfa, Calcomp, Canon, EnCAD, Fuji, HP, Kodak, Mitsubishi, Nikon, Polaroid, Seiko, Sharp, Umax...
Developed by Caldera Graphics, a French company which develops graphics software, the CAMELEO standard version proposes the only Color Management System (scanners to screens to printers) available at the moment on every Unix workstation: Agfa FotoTune.
Added to the peripherals driving utilities (scanners, digital cameras, film recorders, printers, plotters...), CAMELEO has a range of tools presented as independent and easy to set up modules, which enables a series of graphics processing operations: multiformat file management, chromatic and colorimetric retouching, geometric and morphological manipulations, snapshot, pixel retouching, text creation, PostScript and HP-GL/2 file rasterization (RIP option)...
All the driving functions are integrated in a Client/Server architecture, allowing the sharing of resources between peripheral hardware (scanners and printers), connected to the different workstations in an heterogeneous Ethernet network, thanks to the Caldera floating license.
